Housing market confidence 'increasing'

Confidence in the UK's housing market is rising, it has been
suggested.
According to Selwyn Lim, director of Mouseprice.com, public
expectations about the future performance of the industry are
"encouraging".
He made his comments in the wake of the release of figures from
Zoopla.co.uk, which showed that 81 per cent of people believe the
value of homes will rise over the next six months.
On average, respondents to the poll stated a belief that prices
will go up by 5.7 per cent over this period.
In addition, 78 per cent of those surveyed said that it is now no
easier to obtain a mortgage than it was three months ago.
Mr Lim said: "Absolutely, it is definitely encouraging and I think
that once the results of the next election materialise, then there
will be a lot more certainty [about] the next five years."
The general election has been called for May 6th and the political
parties are already campaigning.
