Sellers 'adjusting prices of new properties'

For the first time in five months, the asking prices of new
properties have fallen in the UK.
Rightmove has revealed that in June, the average cost of a property
fresh to the market was £226,436, a decline of 0.4 per
cent.
Although other surveys have suggested that house prices increased
in May, the new information published by Rightmove suggests that
new sellers are being a little more cautious.
It is thought that those looking to sell their property are
adjusting prices to suit demand in different areas.
Miles Shipside, commercial director of Rightmove, said:
"Perennially popular areas with good schooling are in, while flats
in large blocks and terraces requiring major works are out, meaning
new sellers are having to adjust prices accordingly."
In related news, Kinleigh Folkard & Hayward's Jenny Collett
recently told the Financial Times Adviser that now is the ideal
time for people to act if they are thinking about selling their
home.
