Thrifty homeowners 'should consider loft insulation'

Homeowners on a budget should look at improving the insulation of
their homes, according to one property expert.
Andrew Leech, director at the National Home Improvement Council
(NHIC), which represents organisations working in the home
improvement sector, said that there are various ways to enhance
one's house, such as loft insulation or cavity wall
insulation.
His comments follow the publication of figures from Sainsbury's
Home Insurance, which show that around 13 per cent of UK homeowners
(3.27 million) are considering making improvements to their houses
in the next 12 months.
"There are other ways of increasing the size of your house without
going to a full scale extension, like reorganising the interior of
your home," said Mr Leech.
The news comes after research released by website Ratedpeople.com
last month revealed those who increase their overall floor space by
ten per cent see a five per cent rise in the value of their
property.
